Progressive Era
Progressive were reformers who exposed problems in America by investigating and writing about them to their fellow Americans. There efforts led to great changes in American politics, businesses, and society. Many of their reforms continue today while some others have faded over time. There greatest achievements include the 16th Amendment on Income Taxes, the 17th Amendment on electing Senators, 18th Amendment prohibiting alchol and the 19th Amendment that gave the right to vote to women. The country has not been the same ever since. The 18th Amendment will later end and be repealed by the 21st Amendment that allows alchol to be sold following state laws.
