* The one invention that improved transportation, communication, business, and the every day life of people was the railroad. For example, the railroad was able to cover long distances in a short amount of time instead of horses. Also, the railroad traveled with the people. This improved communication because news traveled fast between people. In addition, goods were moved quickly throughout the nation. Businesses increased rapidly because people such as farmer’s products/crops were able to be sold faster.
