where ever there was a railroad a new town poped up. anohter reason why it was key was it tranported the cattle to the east to get sold for more money becaus e in the west cows sold for $3 but in the east cows sold for $20 instead of $3. thats why the train was key in west KG 03/23/2011 09:49
The railroads are the key to understanding the development of the American West because where there was a railroad, there was also a town. Towns were built so quickly that there wasn't anytime for roads. The railroads had cows in it so they can be sold. It is called the Long Drive and they got sold in New York other than Texas because in Texas, they were sold for $3 and in New York they were sold for $20. TB 03/23/2011 09:51

The railroads are the key to understanding the development to the American west because when they built the railroads they started to make more towns. The towns were built right next to the railroads so that they good get supplies or food. The railroads help the west get supplies more faster. The railroads are the key to understanding the development of the American west because it helped the westward region of the country to get around easyer and to send cattle for more money.
